We are looking for a Mechanical Procurement Engineer who brings strong technical judgment, cost awareness, and the ability to manage strategic suppliers.

🎯 Mission of the Role
Contribute to the technical procurement of mechanical components (boilermaking, sheet metal, metal/plastic machining, hardware, commercial parts, 3D printing, among others) for machinery projects.
You will be involved from early design phases through industrialization, ensuring Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) in close collaboration with Engineering, Production, and Project Managers.
You will report directly to the Head of Procurement, actively contributing to category strategy and supplier panel development.
🔧 Responsibilities
Technical Participation in Projects
Review drawings and specifications with the Technical Office for critical components.
Analyze manufacturing processes (sheet metal, boilermaking, machining, surface treatments, 3D printing, etc.).
Evaluate manufacturability (DFM) and propose technical and cost improvements.
Participate in make-or-buy decisions.
Support the industrialization of new designs and suppliers.
Technical Supplier Management
Monitor QCD indicators (Quality, Cost, Delivery).
Analyze non-conformities, cost deviations, and OTIF performance.
Conduct regular supplier meetings.
Negotiate prices, lead times, capacity, and improvement plans.
Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers.
Manage returns and claims.
Maintain key data updated in the ERP system.
Support category strategy alongside the Head of Procurement.
Project-Based Operational Management
Launch RFQs and perform technical-commercial comparisons.
Issue purchase orders and follow up according to project milestones.
Coordinate critical deliveries and resolve technical or delivery issues.
Support stock management to avoid shortages or overstock.
Ensure accurate and timely ERP updates.
Job requirements
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering is a plus.
FP (Industrial, Mechanical, Administration or Finance).
Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience as an operational buyer.
Mandatory experience in boilermaking, sheet metal, machining, hardware, and 3D printing.
Experience in industrial environments, OEMs, or machinery manufacturers.
Experience in SRM, supplier negotiation, and supplier audits is a plus.
Skills:
Advanced interpretation of mechanical drawings.
Strong knowledge of sheet metal, welding, machining processes, and surface treatments.
QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery) performance management.
Advanced ERP and Excel skills.
Advanced English (written and spoken)
